Many news outlets, consumer review sites, and industry publications routinely publish lists of recommended precious metals companies. But unlike the typical advice you’ll find online, I put my own portfolio on the table. I openly share where I invest, giving you a clear, transparent look at my real precious metals strategy.
Being transparent here – this is where I invested and what I added to my self directed IRA account (SDIRA). You won’t find any other precious metals advocate offering this level of transparency.
I had $25,000 to invest when I first bought precious metals inside my IRA. For this reason, after an exhaustive search, I decided to invest with Goldco.

And here’s what I’m currently holding (amounts left our for privacy sake.)

I didn’t have $50,000 in liquid funds at the time—most of my SDIRA capital was tied up in real estate—so investing with Augusta Precious Metals wasn’t an option for me then.
If you do have $50,000 or more, Augusta is an excellent choice. Their educational approach is unmatched, and they truly go above and beyond to help you understand the process. But if you’re below that threshold, Goldco is every bit as reputable. Their ratings are virtually identical, and they offer a comparable buyback program.
Honestly, you can’t make a bad choice between the two. For me, it came down to the minimum investment amount, and Goldco aligned better with my initial entry into precious metals. I’ve been extremely satisfied ever since.
If you’re still on the fence, I suggest speaking with both companies. See who makes you feel more confident—they’re both outstanding options.

I’ve been covering precious metals publicly on various media publications dating back to 2012. I pride myself in transparency. If you run across any other websites offering research without showing you any proof of purchase, be very careful as they could simply be advertisements.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions or would like a personal consult. I’ll leave links to both companies here where you can request more information and do your own due diligence.
